A Howzit Boet & Howzit Beaut Initiative

You don't have
to carry it alone.

Speak Up exists to get Men talking about what they're really going through — and to connect them with real support. Reaching out is not weakness. It's the strongest move there is. In honour of men fighting silent battles.

Our message is reaching the community.

We are proud to have the Speak Up campaign featured by the Alberton Record.

One minute. One message. One chance to reach someone.

For 67 days, we are sharing one honest, meaningful one-minute video every day. Each message is a reminder that you matter, you are not alone, and it is okay to Speak Up.

Most Men are taught to handle it alone. That's the problem.

A lot of Men grow up believing they have to push through in silence — that struggling is something to hide, not share. Speak Up is here to change that. We want every man in our community to know that talking about what's going on inside is normal, and that help is always closer than it feels.

Feeling weighed down, exhausted, or numb more days than not
Pulling away from friends, family, or things you used to enjoy
Struggling to sleep, focus, or see a way through
Thoughts that things would be easier if you weren't around

Strong Women carry heavy things too.

Speak Up is for everyone. Women are often the ones holding families, friendships, businesses and communities together — but being strong for everyone else can make it hard to admit when you need someone too.

01

You don't always have to be the strong one.

You can be capable, resilient and still feel overwhelmed. Strength also means knowing when to put the weight down and let someone stand beside you.

02

Your voice matters.

Whether you're carrying pressure at home, at work, in a Relationship, in Motherhood, in Business or simply inside yourself — you deserve a safe space to say, “I'm not okay.”

03

Beaut, you don't have to carry it alone.

Reach out to a friend, a sister, a colleague or someone to listen. Sometimes one honest conversation is where healing, support and connection begin.

Howzit Beaut? Not the automatic answer. Not “I'm fine.” How are you, really? Speak Up. You matter too.

Three steps. No judgement.

01

Reach out

Call, WhatsApp, or message us — whichever feels easiest. You don't need to have the right words.

02

Talk to someone who gets it

You'll speak with someone to listen without judgement, and help you make sense of what you're feeling.

03

Get connected to ongoing support

If you need more than a conversation, we'll help connect you to counsellors and services near you.

Speak Up offers a listening ear and a way to connect with help — it is not a substitute for emergency or professional care. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, please call 112 (mobile) or 10111 (SAPS), or go to your nearest emergency room.

Tell your story. Read someone else's.

Sometimes hearing that someone else has been through it makes it easier to say your own piece out loud. Share what you're going through, or leave a word of support for someone who has.

🕊️ If you're in danger right now, don't wait for a reply here — call 0800 567 567 (SADAG, 24/7) or 112 immediately.
